Uxbridge-based XLB Signs moved to new premises in late 2005, triggering the long planned replacement of its ageing wall saw. Accuracy, a compact operating footprint and keen pricing were high on Managing Director John Exelby's list of priorities, and it quickly became apparent that only one manufacturer could help - Sagetech, with its Koolkut range of Vertical Panel Saws.

The company had used a 1960s panel saw since its launch in 1985. The machine's fixed-column design meant that 3m or so of clear wall space was required on either side of the saw, to allow sheets to be fed through. John had been considering replacing it for some time, and with the move to new premises planned, the time had come to take action.

Checking out the vertical panel saws available on the market, John came across an advertisement for Sagetech's Koolkut range.
