John knew that the right tool for the job would be a wall saw, and on seeing one of Sagetech' press advertisements, set about researching his options. "I was impressed with Sagetech," he said. "They obviously know their stuff, and gave me excellent advice."

Installed in late 2005, JW Whittle's Koolkut KK16 cuts around 100 sheets of chipboard and ply each week, primarily for shelving units.

"It's a completely different ball park," noted John, comparing life with the Koolkut to the company's old approach. "The most obvious difference is the enormous reduction in dust, but there are other important improvements as well: some 24 sheets can be cut by a single operator in under an hour and we need to stock far less material, because there's no need to keep different sizes. We can also be much more flexible in responding to customer demand than before."
