Small and medium-sized businesses looking to upgrade from hand-held circular saws to vertical panel saws can face a quandary – finding a machine with the necessary capabilities, but at a realistic price. Lancashire-based JW Whittle Ltd found the answer in Sagetech' Koolkut range.

JW Whittle, a family-owned company, manufactures industrial storage equipment such as shelving, racking and drawer units.

Until about 18 months ago, the chipboard decks for shelving and other units were all cut to size using a hand-held circular saw and trestles. "The dust was just appalling," remembered John Whittle, Managing Director. "And of course there were all the usual Health and Safety issues associated with hand held tools."
