Challenges of growth
A steadily increasing workload has brought its own challenges, including that of streamlining the packing process. The company ships its T Card systems in made-to made-to-measure hardboard packing cases, built by Ivan Stretten, Workshop Assistant. "I was cutting the hardboard for the packing cases with a hand-held circular saw," said Ivan. "While volumes were lower it was manageable, but even then, it wasn't ideal. For larger cases, I had to make part of the cut, then reposition the sheet, sometimes actually having to climb onto the bench, to complete it."

Achieving a sufficiently accurate cut was also difficult with the hand held saw, leading to unnecessary wastage. "On top of all that," Ivan added, "The workshop was covered in dust almost all the time."
