The table saw had several limitations. Passing large, flexible sheets through it required several operators working together, and unless the deck of the saw was perfectly clean at the outset, the work piece could be scratched. It was also very difficult to get an accurate cut. Increasingly stringent Health and Safety regulations were the final straw, and PPA found themselves looking for a vertical panel saw - the only tool that would address all of these issues.

Adrian found Sagetech's KoolKut range of vertical panel saws on the web (www.sagetech.co.uk). "The KoolKut range offered everything we needed," he noted. "Crucially, it was large enough to cut eight-by-four sheets: the other machines we looked at claimed to take eight-by-four but couldn't actually cut to those dimensions."
