"More recently we tried using a table saw and a hand-held circular saw," Peter observed. "Neither was ideal, the table saw requiring a very large amount of operating space, and the hand held saw being unwieldy and inaccurate. We realised the time had come to look at vertical panel saws."

Peter found the panel saw market polarised, with low cost collapsible units available at one end of the spectrum and large, significantly more expensive static wall saws at the other. "We looked at a collapsible saw from the States but it was just too flimsy, and the static wall saws were all priced at levels way beyond our budget," he noted.

Solid, rigid and sensibly priced
It was at this point that he came across an advertisement, in the sign press, from Hampshire-based Sagetech. The advertisement was promoting the company's Koolkut range of space saving, economically-priced vertical panel saws.
