A chance telephone call from vertical panel saw specialist Sagetech Industries turned out to be exactly what Oxfordshire builders' merchants AK Timms needed. The company's ageing table and laminate saws were due for replacement, and Timber Manager Terry Merriman was searching for the right tool to take their place.

"Technology has moved on significantly since we bought the older machines, and we wanted to replace them with a safer, more accurate tool," Terry explained.

Terry looked at the range of saws advertised in the trade press, and visited a few woodwork shops to see some machines in action. It was during this process that he received an unexpected phone call from Sagetech.
